AAWG(Athermal Arrayed Waveguide Grating) It is a planar optical waveguide device that does not require external temperature control, designed specifically for wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems to achieve efficient division/multiplexing of multi wavelength optical signals. Its core is to offset the refractive index changes caused by temperature through material optimization and structural innovation (such as thermal optical compensation design), thereby eliminating the wavelength drift problem of traditional AWG. The heat free design eliminates temperature control components such as thermoelectric coolers, significantly reducing power consumption and costs, while improving device stability and reliability. AAWG has a compact structure and is suitable for high-speed optical communication scenarios, such as 5G fronthaul, data center interconnection, and fiber optic access networks, providing key solutions for high-density, low-power optical modules.
