Dragon Boat Festival- Chinese traditional festivals

The 5th day of the 5th lunar month has had a history of more than 2,000 years.

In Shunde, China, people make zongzi every year at this time.

Eating Zongzi (sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves) is a symbolic act to express homage to Qu Yuan's patriotism.


The following is the method of making zongzi in Shunde

The main feature is the salty rice dumpling. The fillings are quite rich and can be cured meat, egg yolk,
scallops, mushrooms, mung beans, barbecued pork, dried shrimp, chestnuts, etc.

And our second most important tradition is dragon boat rowing

Every time this festival comes, dragon boats are salvaged from the water for cleaning and use. The oldest dragon boat can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty.

The temples in each place have their own dragon boats, and they will gather together on this day.

We also have Phoenix boats for girls, which are lighter in size.

There are also special light dragon boats at night
