About what is MTP/MPO?     

                         - MPO and MTP are both multi-core fiber optic connectors.

                         - MPO is a general term, and MTP is a specific model launched by US Conec.

                 ② About the number of cores of MTP/MPO

                      According to IEC-61754-7 and EIA/TIA-604-5 (FOCIS 5) specifications, 12-core optical fibers are usually arranged in a row,
                              which can support one or more rows of optical fibers in the same MPO connector, up to 144 cores.

About the composition of MPO

                      - MPO fiber optic connectors include optical fibers, sheaths, coupling components, metal rings, pins (PIN pins), dust caps, etc.
                              The pin part is divided into two forms: male and female. The male connector has two PIN pins, while the female connector does not.

                               MPO polarity classification :

                   Type A (straight-through type)

                       The fiber cores at both ends of the jumper are arranged in the same position, that is, 1 on one end corresponds to 1 on the other end,
                       and 12 on one end corresponds to 12 on the other end. The directions of the keys at both ends are opposite, and key up corresponds to key down.

                       Type B (staggered type)

                       The fiber cores at both ends of the jumper are arranged in opposite positions, that is, 1 on one end corresponds to 12 on the other end,
                            and 12 on one end corresponds to 1 on  the other end.
                            The key orientations at both ends are the same, that is, key up corresponds to key up, and key down corresponds to key down.

                      Type C (pair staggered type)

                      Type C MPO patch cord is a pair of adjacent cores that cross, that is, core 1 at one end corresponds to 2 at the other end,
                      and core 12 at one end is 11 at the other end. The orientation of the keys at both ends is also opposite, and key up corresponds to key down.

                     Application of MTP/MPO

                      - High-speed transceiver module

                                  MTP/MPO can realize parallel transmission of multiple optical signals, improve the rate and capacity of the transceiver module,
                          and is suitable for high-speed optical communication systems such as 40G, 100G, 200G, and 400G.

                                 -  Optical fiber interconnection

                          MTP/MPO can realize fast and flexible interconnection between optical fibers, reduce plugging loss and dustproof problems,
                          improve fiber utilization and network capacity, and is suitable for optical fiber communication applications such as data centers and 5G mobile communications.
